Facilities of the Family Farm School

The training center is located within the Philippine Coconut Authority compound right beside the farm of the University of Eastern Philippines. The training center is ideally situated, and has a farm atmosphere that is free from the hassle of social activity. The facilities include, among others

  • Contextual Area/Training Hall

The contextual area is spacious, with 90 square meter-floor area, and can accommodate 20 to 25 students. It follows the minimum basic requirements set out by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), to include, learning resource area, assessment area, quality control area, practical area and contextual area.

For outsiders who wish to avail of the training facility, rental of venue is Php500.00 per day (plus Php150.00 per hour in excess of eight hours).

  • Dormitory

The school offers free use of duplex-type dormitory for enrolled students, with beddings and comfort rooms for both men and women. There is also a communal kitchen (wood-fired) with kitchen wares provided for students' use. For transient visitors, the rent is Php75.00 per night.

  • Demonstration Farm

A five-hectare demonstration farm is available for students to demonstrate and practice on-farm learning. The area is slightly rolling with undulating slopes and dotted with several varieties of coconut trees, including ruminants (goat) and poultry.

  • Learning Resource

The resource area is yet to be stocked with references (books, manuals, periodicals, magazines and leaflets) on coconut production and by-products' processing for exclusive use of the students. Students enrolled in the School can have access to the reading room of the College of Agriculture and the main library of the University of Eastern Philippines.
